Writer's Workshop
Mama Kat has been doing this workshop on Thursdays, and Mama Me has been Missing In Action for a few weeks. So I'm catching up and trying to get an entry posted for the workshop today. If you're unfamiliar with it, head on over to her 'hood to check it out.
Today I choose prompt # 4. Choose the 7th Picture you took last January and write a poem.
LOVE IT!
The picture above is give or take the 7th picture I took last January. We were hit with snow pretty early on, so they all sort of blend together.
A month from turning two.
You knew just what to do.
Your second time in the snow.
A running you would go.
Dexter stayed by your side.
Until he hit his stride.
And left you in the dust.
Snorting snow - for him - a must!
You'd have played out there all day,
But the sun melted much of it away.
And so another year is here.
They predict more snow, don't fear!
But you've already had your fill.
In Maine, sledding down that hill!
Kind of dorky, but that's the poetic "tune" that was in my head just now. Hope you enjoyed!

very cute pic and a darling little ditty to go with it! is Dexter sitting in the snow? Our dog, Monster (who I keep meaning to do a post about), sat in it yesterday and I think it froze his hindquarters. He had trouble walking back up to the house after that. Our high today is 2 degrees. It's brutal. And snowing again, although they did not forecast it. OMG. We are drowning in SNOW!
ReplyDeleteVery cute & creative!
ReplyDeleteNot dorky at all. Very clever and cute.
ReplyDeleteGreat pic! What a cutie! I am so glad you contacted me about the swap! I never got an email of confirmation (or maybe in my sleep deprived state I accidentally deleted it?) so I thought I just didn't make it in. So hooray, I'm excited! Can you send me your info? varunner7 at a o l dot c o m.
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy your little poem that goes with that cute picture. I used the same prompt myself at http://zemeks.blogspot.com/2010/01/best-part-of-winter-writers-workshop.html
