It's time.
It's life list time.
I'm joining several of my friends (why must I always use bloggy to describe them? They're beyond that at this point!) today and we're sharing our life lists.
Only thing is, I don't know how much of one I have. If you've ever read my attempts at trying to figure out the things to do before or after I turned 40, you'll know I struggle. Yeesh. It's hard to list things, even when lists are sometimes my favorite things.
One cool thing I have done was participate in a Color Me Rad 5K. That's something I can cross off my list, so as much as I'd love to add it just to do that, I won't. I'll just share a picture as a reminder and a motivator for me, as much as for you ...
So, here I go. Things I want to do in my life.
* Visit Barcelona.
* Visit Israel.
* Get to the top of the Statue of Liberty.
* Learn to drive.
* Finish a Dirty Girl Mud Run. (Check back with me in March!)
* Publish something I have written.
* Ride in a hot air balloon.
* Take my mom to Disney World.
* Visit each of the United States (at least once).
* Get to the new Shea Stadium aka Citi Field.
* Run an entire 5K.
* Take a pole dancing class.
* Try hot yoga.
* Take a tropical vacation with my husband and daughter.
* Take my daughter snorkeling.
* Walk my daughter down the aisle at her wedding.
* Learn Hebrew.
* Lose 50 pounds.
* Try a green smoothie.
* Take an art class.
* Go ziplining. (Is that even a word?)
* Visit New Orleans. (October ...)
* Live in New York again.
* Dye my hair. (I never have. Ever.)
* Take a trip by myself.
* See a taping of Saturday Night Live.
* Take my mom to Washington, DC.
* See my parents sell their house and move to something smaller.
* Take my dad out on our boat. (Tubing!)
* Water ski.
* Visit Costa Rica.
I guess I had more than I thought. It's funny how that works when you sit down and actually write something.
This list is open-ended, by the way. I hope to keep adding to it.

Great list. Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteI just love how you shoot high, mama!!!! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteGreat list!
ReplyDeleteRide in a hot air balloon is at the top of my list for sure!
I went to the top of the Statue of Liberty in high school- I swear I get dizzy thinking about it, even over 20 years later. Not the view- but the crazy climb.
ReplyDeleteTry a green smoothie- you'll like it! :)
Love your list! If you come to DC, I'd love to be your tour guide. I lived there for almost a decade. It's such a great city!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME list!! Especially since we share a few items on our respective lists. ;)
ReplyDeleteOne item that caught my eye was the hair-dye. I have to say, I LOVE your hair-color... so don't do it until you really want/have to. Because once you start, it's tough to stop. I started dying my mousy-dark-blonde locks almost 3 years ago -- and I LOVE it... but I have to dye it every 6-8 weeks. Grey-ish roots with dark red hair aren't cool.
Cheers!!
WOW!!! Fantastic list!!
ReplyDeleteI know several people who have gone zip lining in Costa Rica so you can potentially cross both of those in one swoop when the time is right!
I am totally on board with your awesome list...except the hot air balloon! OMG they are so scary!!!
I've never actually thought of sitting down and doing this. Maybe I need to!! --Lisa
You've got some great stuff on there! I want to try a green smoothie too. I'm scared :)
ReplyDeleteRide in hot air balloon is definitely on my list too!(Ya know, if I made one.)
ReplyDeleteLove, love, LOVE your list! Ermehgerd, I want to live in NYC again, too. We'll just go pretend to be locals again when I turn 40 in 2017, ok? Also, I solemnly swear that if we ever end up at a blog conference together, I will take you "off campus" and find a pole dancing class for us to attend.
ReplyDeleteI find it so incredibly cool that you are a dyed-in-the-wool New Yorker that doesn't know how to drive yet. I wish I could learn how to drive again, it's so cool when you finally get a hang of it.
ReplyDeleteAnd I have to agree with Kelli. Hair dye is a slippery slope my friend. But have fun with it!!
This list is so inspiring and empowering! I'm going to think of my own list, and if I write it, I will stop back and link to it. Just wanted to tell you, I already know I'll have quite a few of the same things on my list! :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful list! I have been to Spain and it is amazing.
ReplyDeleteCosta Rica is on my short list, too!
ReplyDeleteFantastic list! I am with you on soooo many of these things - especially New Orleans, the 5K run, and hot air balloon ride! I've been obsessed with hot air balloons since I was in 1st grade and found a postcard from a HAB festival.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see how we all fare this year! I think this life list project is really going to help us all get moving on our goals. :-)
Awesome list. I LOVED Costa Rica when I went there at 16 :-)

Awesome list! Great blog party idea! Do you have the link code anywhere? TY!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry! The first time I submitted my Life List, I didn't put in the correct link! (No. 18!) I resubmitted and it should come up as No. 19. Long day:( OK, my next Life List will contain - Know when to stop working:)
ReplyDeleteOoh, fun list! The only one I have a comment on...hot yoga, tried it, ended up dehydrated and with a kidney stone (I think you guys came to OH for the BO shortly after that event) anyway, just heard Jillian Michaels say not to do hot yoga, not good for you ( no offense to those who love it) just needed to tell my cautionary tale. Also, I keep the littlest moleskin in my wallet to write down life list type items that pop up...I had Visit New Orleans and drink coffee and eat beignets at Cafe du Monde and check out some voodoo shops, Sam did that last summer and reported in that it was all cheesy and touristy, sigh...I also had visit Seattle and drink coffee at some cool cafe and hipster watch...Sam did that two summers ago on a BO, I still want to do that one!! Lol...xoxoxo
